Deletion Policy

Thank you for being a part of the Perfit community. This is our Account Deletion Policy containing information about how to delete your account and what information will be deleted if you do, and what will be kept. Please let us know if you need any help in understanding what it means for you or if you have any other questions or concerns regarding this policy.

We are Perfit (Perfit, we, our or us) and we operate the Perfit app and Perfit website.

We want to explain here how to delete your account, should you want to do so.

1. How to delete your account

Account deletions can be done using the "Delete Account" button on the settings page.

To delete your account, follow these steps in the Perfit app:

  1. In the waitlist portion of the app, the settings are accessed by pressing the gear icon at the top right corner of the home screen
  2. In the main portion of the app, the settings are accessed by navigating to the profile tab (ID-card icon)
  3. On the settings page, select the "Account" option
  4. On the account page, select the "Delete Account" option and confirm your choice twice

2. What is deleted?

We will delete any data that is not needed for data consistency for others using the app.

We may keep your data for a reasonable period of time after your request. We may also keep your data for legal or technical reasons.

We will delete all information that you have provided in your Settings and Profile, such as your name, gender, avatar, etc.

However, parts of your Profile information may appear in other places, such as in comments or reviews. For the consistency of the experience of others using the app, we will keep these until we develop the means to delete or anonymize them without affecting the experience of others using the app. We are planning to support deleting or anonymizing these in a future release.

3. What is kept?

We will only keep data that is needed for data consistency for others using the app. However, we may also keep your data for a reasonable period of time afterwards. We may also keep your data for legal or technical reasons.

In order to preserve the consistency and integrity of the experience of others using the app, previous public content that you have created in the app will be preserved, including but not limited to published reviews, comments, capsules, likes and saves. This includes "aspects" of these items, such as your name and avatar, as they appear on those items.

If the app (e.g. in the future) provides the ability to delete or undo any of these items, we recommend that you do so before deleting your account.

We have not yet implemented the deletion of unpublished content, but we are planning to support deleting these in a future release. They are not accessible by other users.

Additionally, if you wish to recreate your account in the future, you will most likely be able to resume control over items you previously created, such as comments, reviews, capsules, likes and saves, as long as they have not been deleted. No one else would, as long as you are in sole control of the authentication method of the relevant authentication provider.
